Mobilising Communities for a Cleaner Greater Accra
To address sanitation challenges in the region, the Minister reintroduced a monthly sanitation exercise, encouraging communities, assemblies, traders, and youth groups to participate in cleaning activities.
The initiative includes:
- Community clean-up exercises
- Desilting gutters and drains
- Public education on environmental hygiene
- Collaboration with assemblies and sanitation organisations
The program aims to reduce flooding, cholera outbreaks, and environmental pollution, while promoting civic responsibility among residents.
